About us News HBNC takes NAPCAN pledge to reaffirm commitment to keeping children safe HBNC is proud to reaffirm its commitment to the safety and well-being of children by taking the National Association for Prevention of Child abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) pledge as part of National Child Protection Week, held from 1-7 September 2024. This year's theme, "Every conversation matters" emphasises the importance of open conversations and communication, to help build community knowledge, understand issues and build powerful connections to help keep children safe. The NAPCAN pledge is a national initiative aimed at raising awareness and encouraging organisations, communities, and individuals to play their part in protecting children. By taking this pledge, HBNC reaffirms its dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children in the Fraser Coast community. Our NAPCAN Pledge HBNC pledges our ongoing commitment to a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and neglect to ensure we are a child safe organisation. Tanya Stevenson, CEO of HBNC, expressed the importance of this commitment. "At HBNC, the safety and well-being of children are at the heart of everything we do,” Tanya said. “Taking the NAPCAN pledge is a powerful way to show our community that we are committed to safeguarding our most vulnerable members. “We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in the lives of children and ensure they have the best possible start in life." The NAPCAN pledge aligns with HBNC's broader mission to create connected communities. We encourage all community members to join us in this vital cause by learning more about the pledge and how they can contribute to the protection of children in their everyday lives.
