The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) invites families to the Giant Easter Eggs-pedition at the Botanic Gardens for the third year.

From 3 – 19 April, visitors can explore the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens and discover 12 giant, local artist-designed Easter Eggs, transformed into a magical destination inspired by wondrous places around the world. Every giant egg features its own imaginative theme, with playful prompts to encourage children and grown-ups to talk, think, explore, and create together.

A Special Opening Day will be held on Tuesday 7 April, featuring craft activities, selfie stations, chalk play, and themed surprises for families to enjoy.

“This event is about bringing the community together to explore, laugh and discover,” says CEO Tanya Stevenson. “The Giant Easter Eggs-pedition turns the Botanic Gardens into a trail of wonder and a chance for families to connect, be curious, and celebrate the joy of imagination.”

How It Works

Starting Point: Orchid House, Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens

Collect a passport from Orchid House or download a copy from the HBNC website

This is a self-paced activity so follow the clues to find each egg and answer the prompts along the trail. When your passport is complete, take a photo and upload it via the QR code to enter the draw.

Families are encouraged to dress up, take photos, and enjoy their adventure at their own pace. Bring your sense of wonder and maybe a pair of bunny ears, and enjoy a joyful journey where every egg brings a smile.
