Women across the Fraser Coast are invited to step into growth, confidence and connection with the launch of THRIVE – Your Year. Your Pace. Your Power, a new women-focused learning and empowerment series delivered through the Local Learning Network at Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC).

Designed exclusively for women, THRIVE brings together personal development, professional growth and wellbeing in a way that fits real life. The program recognises the diverse roles women play in their families, workplaces and communities, and offers supportive, accessible opportunities to pause, reflect and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Running throughout May 2026, THRIVE will feature a series of workshops, skill-building sessions and connection-focused experiences covering topics such as confidence and self-belief, career direction, practical life skills, wellbeing, creativity and community connection. The program includes a mix of standalone workshops and multi-session offerings, allowing participants to attend individual sessions or engage across the series at a pace that suits their lives.

Workshops have now started being added to the THRIVE calendar, giving women an early look at the growing program of opportunities available across the month. Community members are encouraged to explore the sessions already listed and keep an eye on the calendar as new workshops continue to be added.

HBNC Team Leader for Events and Local Learning Network, Michaela Davis, said the program has been created in response to growing demand for women-only spaces that support both personal and professional development.

“THRIVE is about meeting women where they are. There’s no pressure, no one-size-fits-all approach — just practical tools, meaningful conversations and a supportive community that allows women to grow in a way that works for them,” Ms Davis said.

The program is also inviting local facilitators and community leaders who run women-only workshops, courses or events to be part of THRIVE, with approved sessions promoted as part of the month-long program and added to the official calendar.

Women interested in contributing a workshop or volunteering to facilitate a session as part of the series are encouraged to contact the HBNC team at [email protected].

To further support accessibility and inclusion, sessions will be delivered in welcoming, low-pressure environments with flexible attendance options and affordable pricing. Many sessions will be held after hours to support women balancing work, caregiving and other commitments.

THRIVE aligns with HBNC’s existing Local Learning Network programs, creating clear pathways for women to continue learning, building skills and strengthening social connection beyond the series.
