About us News GUESS TO WIN: Why we’re counting houses in October When it comes to renting on the Fraser Coast, it helps to know the numbers. International Tenants’ Day is coming up on Monday October 6 and to celebrate, HBNC is inviting the community to have a bit of housing-themed fun. From now until 4.30pm Tuesday, October 7, drop in to the Hervey Bay Community Centre at 22 Charles St to enter our How Many Houses competition. The game is simple – just take a look at the jar full of miniature houses and guess how many there are! You can submit your guess online at www.hbnc.com.au/forms/guess-the-number-of-houses, or in person at reception. The winner will take home a $200 EFT card, announced at the Urangan Pier Markets on Wednesday, October 8 at 11am. Narelle Duroux, HBNC’s Manager of Tenancy and Development Services, said the game was about getting the community engaged with the topic of renting while having a bit of fun. “There are thousands of renters on the Fraser Coast, and we want to celebrate them this International Tenants’ Day,” Narelle said. “The guessing game is a fun way to get people thinking about housing on the Fraser Coast. “The idea of counting houses helps draw attention to the numbers people need to know about when it comes to renting.” TAKE A GUESS Numbers you need to know There are more than 10,000 renters on the Fraser Coast, as of the 2021 Census.
