Community Partnerships Power Positive Change for Local Youth: MACE Wide Bay Srong community partnerships play a vital role in creating meaningful, lasting support for people who need it most — and the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is proud to celebrate one such partnership with Motorcyclists Advocating Child Empowerment (MACE). In 2025, members of MACE generously supported HBNC’s Youth Mentoring Program through financial donations and the volunteering of their time. Their contribution is already making a positive impact on young people across the Hervey Bay community, demonstrating the power of collaboration and shared purpose. HBNC’s Youth Mentoring Program supports school-aged students between 7 and 17 years old who are experiencing challenges at school. By pairing young people with trained volunteer mentors, the program provides consistent encouragement, a trusted listening ear, and practical support. Mentors visit students one to two times per week at school, helping them build confidence, set goals, and recognise their own strengths. Programs like Youth Mentoring are only possible through a combination of funding, donations, and strong community partnerships. Contributions from organisations such as MACE directly support the delivery of these services, ensuring young people receive the care, guidance, and connection they need to thrive. “At HBNC, we believe that everyone matters and that a strong, connected community is built when many hands come together,” said a spokesperson for the Centre. “MACE’s support is a powerful example of how partnerships between community organisations can change lives.” HBNC extends its sincere gratitude to MACE for riding alongside the Centre in empowering local youth. Their generosity reflects the spirit of compassion and social justice that underpins HBNC’s work across more than 30 funded programs supporting aged care, families, diversity, and social connection throughout the Fraser Coast. HBNC welcomes interest from local businesses, community groups, and organisations who share a commitment to building a stronger, more connected community. Those interested in partnering with HBNC to support local programs and community members are encouraged to reach out and start a conversation. Together, through collaboration and community-led support, we can ensure everyone in the Fraser Coast has a place to belong, feel safe, and be connected.
