About us News Christmas Lights Wonderland returns bigger and brighter than ever For the second year running, HBNC is hosting the Christmas Lights Wonderland in the Botanic Gardens, beside the Urangan Community Wellness Centre. The Botanic Gardens will again be transformed into a magical wonderland of dazzling lights, set to enchant local families and visitors with a safe and festive holiday experience. Visitors can expect a breathtaking display of thousands of twinkling lights, creatively designed festive installations and enchanting pathways that will transport them into a Christmas Wonderland, Hervey Bay style. HBNC has expanded the lights to include a Snow Land, in partnership with ComLife. This year, the event is further strengthened by the collaboration between Julie Devling, CEO of the Community Lifestyles Agency, and Tony Bonello, General Manager of the Hervey Bay Boat Club, bringing their combined efforts to create a truly magical experience for the community. Julie Devling said CLA was excited to be joining this year’s Wonderland event. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together, celebrate this special season and share the spirit of giving,” Ms Devling said. Tony Bonello said Hervey Bay Boat Club was proud to continue its partnership with the event. “The Wonderland will be an unforgettable experience for all ages with families able to stroll through the enchanted gardens and enjoy the festive season in a joyful atmosphere,” Mr Bonello said. Tanya Stevenson said this year’s event would build on the incredible success of last year. “With over 20,000 community members attending last year we are excited to expand the event and it will be open from 11 – 23 December, 5pm – 8pm each evening,” Ms Stevenson said. “Entry is via the Chinese Garden and we are currently seeking any volunteers who are interested in helping out in the two-week leading up to Christmas”. Guests are asked to provide a gold coin donation to enter the Christmas Lights Wonderland, with funds raised going towards essential community projects. The Inclusive Silent Night will be open on the 18th of December. A safe drop off and pick up zone will be available at the front of the Chinese Garden entry. Dates: 11 – 23 December, 5pm – 8pm.
