Calling All Fraser Coast Creatives! Paint the Town with Purpose: HBNC Launches Art Story Wall Initiative The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is inviting local residents to help turn a once graffiti-covered wall into a vibrant community tapestry through its newest initiative: the Art Story Wall. Unveiled along the Bideford Street bike path, the wall will become a canvas for locals to express themes of belonging, connection, and community — one artwork at a time. For many in the community, it’s more than just a mural. It’s a chance to channel personal stories, frustrations, and hopes into something uplifting. The project invites artists, hobbyists, and everyday creatives to collect a free wooden canvas and design a piece that reflects what belonging means to them. Once complete, the artworks will be installed to form the Art Story Wall, transforming a previously dull and vandalised section of wall into a vibrant, living story. For those who might not consider themselves “artists,” the HBNC emphasises that this project isn’t about perfection — it’s about expression.
