We live in a duality of environments, the real world which we know and understand and the newly created digital world. To thrive in these environments we need to acknowledge, understand, create and retain balanced connections.

Connections are the micro steps that we take throughout our lives with limited awareness of its value. It is our journey and connections that scaffold our identity, and they are vital as we spiral towards out destiny.

The painting (acrylic on board) is an abstraction inspired by a tranquil spot at Bamboo Land Nursery & Parklands and deals with connections on multiple levels.

Our eye is drawn towards the centre of a spiral via the stairs leading us through real-world connections - the air (birds) earth (rocks, vegetation), and water to the less-known connections of the digital environment.

Painting styles are used to reenforce connections: the haziness of the impressionistic background.
