What's on Neighbourhood Night Studio - Active Clubs Network - Grants & Funding Securing funding is a key part of keeping community sporting clubs active, accessible, and sustainable — but the grants process can often feel complex and overwhelming. Session Four of the Active Clubs Network focuses on Grants and Funding, supporting sporting clubs to better understand funding opportunities and build confidence in preparing strong, realistic applications. This session is designed to help clubs strengthen their funding readiness by understanding what funders are looking for and how to clearly communicate their club’s needs, goals, and community impact. Participants will gain practical insights into: Understanding common grant types and funding opportunities Preparing clubs to be grant-ready before opportunities open Identifying and clearly describing community need and impact Strengthening project planning, budgeting, and evidence Improving confidence in completing and submitting applications As with all Active Clubs Network sessions, this workshop is: Beginner-friendly and jargon-free Practical and solution-focused Led by experienced facilitators Designed around real-world club challenges This session is suitable for committee members, treasurers, volunteers, and club leaders who are involved in fundraising, grant applications, or long-term planning. Delivered by Fraser Coast Regional Council as part of the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre’s Neighbourhood Night Studio, the Active Clubs Network provides clear, accessible learning tailored to the needs of community sport on the Fraser Coast. Free dinner and $5 on-site supervised childrens activities will be provided, supporting parents and carers to attend. Neighbourhood Night Studio is a relaxed, welcoming after-hours creative space where adults can explore art, learn new skills, and connect with others in a supportive, no-pressure environment. Running weekly in the early evening, the program is designed for beginners and non-artists, with an emphasis on process over perfection and people over performance. To remove barriers and make participation easy, sessions are low-cost, wheelchair accessible, and supported with clear, encouraging guidance. To further support inclusion, ree dinner and $5 on-site supervised childrens activities will be provided, supporting parents and carers to attend, slow down, and enjoy time for creativity, connection, and wellbeing. This event is part of the HBNC’s Local Learning Network, a series of courses and workshops aimed at introducing Fraser Coast residents to new ideas, skills and friends.
